Robert “Bob” Louis Wininger, age 93, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at Linda White Hospice Center in Evansville, Indiana with family by his side.

He was born on February 11, 1933, to Arthur and Blanche (Wilson) Wininger. Bob spent his early years in Montgomery, Indiana, where he attended St. Peter’s School and built the strong foundation of values that guided him throughout his life. Bob was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication throughout his lifetime. He retired from McCord Corporation after 21 years of service, worked in construction, was a diesel mechanic for Coca-Cola, and then worked for 15 years at Camion Corporation as a diesel mechanic. In addition to his employment, Bob owned and operated his own mechanic shop and took great pride in his years hauling grain with his truck. He also owned the Wininger DX Gas Station located at the corner of North East Third and Highway 50. Bob enjoyed his time working in construction and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family members with projects of all kinds.

Bob will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and dedication to his family and work. His passion during retirement included being with family, enjoying his daily walks at the park, and talking over coffee with friends. He lived a life marked by resilience, humility, and a deep appreciation for the simple moments that mattered most.

Family meant everything to Bob. He is survived by his three daughters, Chris (Joe) Hauser, Diane (Mike) McLemore, and Elaine (John) Risch, all of Washington; his grandchildren, Travis (Trudy) Walls, Shalane (Ben) Kinder, Craig (Ginger) Smolek, Mindy (Ryan) Kenworthy, and Cory (Amber) McLemore; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Phillip Wininger, Randy Wininger, Sudie (Mike) Russell, and Sarah Guy.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Barbara Wininger; his parents, Arthur and Blanche Wininger; and his siblings, Jess Wininger, Joy Floyd, Patty Troutman, Dick Wininger, Doug Wininger, and Bruce Wininger. He leaves behind cherished family members and friends who will carry forward his memory with love and gratitude.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following at 3:30 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.
