Robert Eugene Neidige, 94, of Washington passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his residence.

Robert was born on March 18, 1925 in Washington to Eva (Messer) and Doyle Neidige. Robert attended Washington Catholic High School. He married Therese Irene (Madden) on February 21, 1950. Robert was a decorated U.S. Army World War II veteran. Robert retired from Vectren. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus and Eagles. Robert loved hunting, fishing and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife; son David (Mary Jo) Neidige of Washington; sister Patty; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son Gary Neidige; 4 sisters, Maxine Evans, Shirley Tewell, Patty Kane and Gertrude (Boonie) Jones; 2 brothers, Herold Neidige and Charles Neidige.

Funeral services will be on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel with Bishop Pete Aldrich. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the same day. Military Graveside Rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW will be at St John Cemetery.
