Rita Harper, 79, of Washington passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at her residence.
She was the daughter of Aaron and Thelma (Chandler) Embry.  She graduated from Washington High School in 1958. She worked at G.C. Murphy's Dimestore and retired from Farm Service Agency in 2004. Rita was also a member of Bethel Church South.
She is survived by her husband Herschel Harper of Washington; daughter Michelle Harper of Washington; son Jeff Harper of Fort Lauderdale, FL; brother Richard (Shirley) Embry of Washington; special friend Melissa Freeman and granddaughter Marissa Freeman.
She is preceded in death by her sister and brother-n-law RuthAnn and Paul Patterson.
Funeral Services will be Friday, August 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel with Pastor Bruce Mowrey officiating. Burial will be at Bethany.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Ed Lee North Chapel.
The family has asked that donations be sent to Helping Hearts Hospice at 1314 E. Walnut St. in Washington, Indiana.
