Richard "Dick" LaVassaur, age 75, died at his residence Tuesday. Richard was born January 16, 1939 to Germaine (Boufthelier) and Lawrence LaVassaur in Niagara Falls, NY. Richard married Mary Jane (Mischler) April 14, 1989. He enjoyed motorcycles, camping, animals and children. His whole life he had been an avid Harley-Davidson lover and rider. He was a member of the Eagle''s Club. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. He retired after 42 years from Heidelberg Web Press in 1995. Surviving are Richard''s wife, Mary Jane, brother and sister in law, Gerald (Shirley) LaVassaur, children; Steven Haag, Scott Haag, Stuart (Reonna) Haag, Jamie Ellis (Mark) Hdubasch, grandchildren; Chrystal Haag, Sarah Haag, Alanna Haag, and Austin Haag, great-grandson, Dillon Haag and his beloved dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Debbie LaVassaur, son, Rick LaVassaur and sister Dorothy (LaVassaur) Holtz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter''s Catholic Church on Friday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. John Cemetery, Washington. Visitation will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Hope Church or St. John Cemetery.
