Richard H. Epley Sr., 87, passed away Wednesday, November 19 at St. Vincent Hospital in Salem, Indiana. He was born May 31, 1927 to Myrtle (Laster) and Harvey Epley in Elkton, Kentucky. Richard retired as a manager of Cardox in Evansville, Indiana and was a longtime member of the VFW. He was a member of Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Petersburg. He married Mary Jane Moore in 1955. She passed away in November 1964. He married Doris Jean Tevault in 1967 and she passed away in 1992. Surviving is one son Richard (Linda) Epley Jr. of Washington, daughter Anna (Dennis) Arnholt of Pekin, Indiana, brother, Morris (Pat) Epley of California and a sister, Mary (Archie) Crawford of Kentucky, nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Richard was preceded in death by sons, Ronnie Gene Epley, Sr., Everett Eugene Epley, Gregory Tevault, Russell Epley, and daughter, Onna Epley James; brothers, William Epley, Walton Epley and sisters; Virginia Law, Geneva Kondracai, and Mamie Lee. Funeral services will be Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary from 11 - 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Petersburg. Military Graveside Rites will be performed by the Washington American Legion and VFW.
