Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Paul Allen Sheffler, 82, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026.
Paul was born on July 10, 1943, in Sullivan, Indiana, to Lotus (Turpen) and Glenn Sheffler. He joined the United States Army in 1964 and proudly served his country. On September 1, 1984, he married the love of his life, Mary (Greenwell) Sheffler, with whom he shared many cherished years until her passing.
Paul retired from Crane in 1995 after years of dedicated work. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and motorcycles—especially his beloved Harleys. Paul was a quiet and independent man who found comfort in the simple things in life and often enjoyed peaceful moments to himself. He was a member of the American Legion and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church alongside his wife during her lifetime.
Those left to cherish his memory include Rita (Rick) Drew; Raymond (Heather) Wininger; six grandchildren, Heather (Nick) Schuetz, Dusty (Brittany) Drew, Raymond James Wininger, Paul Joseph Wininger, Kayla Biddle, and Alyssa Wininger; several great-grandchildren; and his brother, Timothy (Susan) Sheffler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lotus and Glenn Sheffler; his beloved wife, Mary Sheffler; and his siblings, Glen, Jerry, and Charles Sheffler, Velda Land, and Mary Brown.
Paul will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for the outdoors and the open road, and the steady, gentle presence he brought to those who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at St. Peter Cemetery in Montgomery, Indiana, where military graveside rites will be conducted
