Obituary

Paul Carpenter, 83, passed away at his Plainville residence June 22, 2022. Paul was born in DeKalb, Illinois, May 4, 1939, to Cledas and Bessie Carpenter. On August 7, 1966, he married Joyce (Allen) Carpenter. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2016.

A high school graduate, Paul went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He was the owner of Carpenter's Gas Station in Plainville for many years and was a member of the Plainville Parkview Christian Church.

Those who now mourn Paul's passing include his son, Neil (Lisa) Carpenter of Plainville; grandsons, Jordan (Eric) Carpenter Laux of Indianapolis and Arik "AJ" Carpenter (Christy Edwards) of Bedford. Paul leaves two sisters, Sue (Darrell) Keith of Washington and Nancy (Hilbert) Core of Odon; and a sister-in-law, Marsue Carpenter of Elnora.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Cledas and Bessie Carpenter; his wife, Joyce; and a brother, Richard Carpenter.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Paul's memory to the Alzheimer Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

Visitation for Paul Carpenter will be 10:00 am-1:00 pm, Monday, June 27, 2022, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington IN.

Funeral services for Paul Carpenter will be immediately following the visitation, also at the Ed L. Lee, North Chapel, beginning at 1:00 pm. Brother Alfred Helms will officiate. Interment will be in the Plainville Cemetery.
