Ora Mae Purdue, age 85, passed away at 2:15 PM on Monday, July 18, 2016 at her home. She was born on January 26, 1931 in Washington to James J. and Ruth (Dillion) Abbott. She had worked at Daviess County Hospital. Ora loved socializing with her family and friends. She had babysat with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband Lavon Purdue whom she married on May 14, 1949; one son William (Kathy) Purdue of Evansville; daughter in-law Carol Purdue of Washington, two sisters, Betty Abel of Washington and Erma Lee Shelton of Washington; four grandchildren, Tori Purdue, Terry (Bobbi) Purdue, Amanda (Robert) Hill, and Vanessa Purdue ; 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Terry Purdue and one brother Norman Abbott. Funeral services will at 10:30 AM on Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
