Nina Lee Morton, age 81, went to her heavenly home on Monday, February 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Nina was born on March 19, 1944, in Petersburg, Indiana, to Alice Mae and John Presley Austin. A devoted homemaker, Nina's life was centered around faith, family, and service to others. She found joy in reading her Bible, working through puzzle books, and most of all, spending treasured time with those she loved.
She was an active member of the Washington Eagles and gave generously of her time as a Girl Scout leader, guiding and encouraging young lives. Nina faithfully attended Southern Baptist Church, where her love for the Lord and quiet strength were evident to all who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving children, Mary (Ross) Goodrich and Daniel Morton; her cherished grandchildren, Danielle (Aaron) Laforce, Rebecca Morton, Preston Morton Jr., Katie Lea Morton, Cheyenne Morton, Miranda Dawn Holady, Jean Marie Goodrich, Chelsea Connor, Michael Wade Holady Jr., and Cody Kelsey; along with several beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Alan (Vicky) Austin, Joe (Rose) Austin, Jim (Rita) Austin, and Amanda Clark.
Nina was preceded in death by her son, Preston Cleon Morton Sr.; her daughter, Theresa Harrold; her granddaughter, Tara Marie Stone; and her siblings, Rita Lary, Brenda Kuper, and Jackie Austin.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Pastor Brad Rainey will be officiating.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary
Burial will take place at a later date.
