Nettie Grove, age 75 , of Oaktown, passed away at 9:45 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2013, Freelandville Community Home in Freelandville. She was born on July 12, 1938 in Darkenell, Arkansas to Betty Irene (Steckman) and Henry Allen Hutson. She graduated from Washington High School and was retired as a Certified Dietary Manager in 2001 after 16 years of service from Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City. She worked at North Knox High Cafeteria from 2007 till her passing. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Steve) Meurer of Bicknell; four sons, Jim Grove of Louisville, Kentucky, Tony Grove Sr. of Athens, Alabama, Tim (Charlene) Grove of Bicknell and Mike Grove of Mt Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren, Carly Zurcher of Terre Haute, James Grove III of Terre Haute, Tony (Elise) Grove Jr. of Gainesville, Georgia, Ali (Mike) Cusic of Indianapolis, Betsy Grove, Jordan Meurer, Madison Meurer, and Makinzi Meurer all of Bicknell and Justus Grove of Mt Camel, Illinois; one great grandson, Jack Zurcher of Terre Haute; one sister, Terry (Wade) Byrd of Muscatine, Iowa; and one brother, Bill Kulp of Davenport, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Millie; two brothers, Donnie and Wayne; her mother in-law, Louise C. Grove in 2001; and one great grandson, Grant Zurcher. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM with a wake service at 4 PM on Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington.
