Obituary

Nancy Cecille (Arney) Shreves, 71, passed away peacefully at her Washington residence during the evening of May 28, 2024. Her family was by her side. She was born in Dallas, Texas, August 16, 1952, to Claude Franklin, Jr. and Jimmie (Garrett) Arney. On April 22, 1977, she married the love of her life, Richard "David" Shreves, and he survives.

Nancy was a 1970 graduate of W. H. Adamson High School. She went on to become a general manager for Taco Bell and retired after fifteen years of service. Nancy loved computer games, enjoyed camping and fishing, and was always ready to travel.

Nancy was a woman with a loving heart and a generous spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who had plenty of love left to give to her children's friends, neighborhood kids, and those she worked with. To Nancy, they were all family and her love knew no bounds.

Those who now cherish Nancy's memory include her husband of forty-seven years, David Shreves; her children: Michael Wayne Shreves of Canton, Texas; Robert Franklin (Katrinia) Ramirez of Washington; Kimberly (Jason) Mitchell of Kaufman, Texas; and Patricia (Robert) Osgatharp of Washington. Nancy was blessed with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She leaves a brother, Claude "Chuck" (Debbie) Arney III of Duncanville, Texas, and many others that Nancy loved and treated as her family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Claude Arney, Jr.; a brother, Michael Arney; and a sister, Patricia Arney.
