Obituary

Myrtle Marie (Craney) Norris Fields age 97, of Washington passed away at 6:18 PM on Tuesday, January 15,2013 at her residence. She was born on October 30, 1915 to Patrick H. and Minnie (Henson) Craney. She graduated from Epson High School in 1936 and was a retired cook from Jefferson School. She also had worked at the Daviess County Hospital and cooked at the Senior Center where she met her second husband. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Her family was her one love. She loved spending time with her great and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Turnbaugh of Evansville and Shirley M. (Austin) Capehart of Washington; two sons, Robert J.(Rita) Norris and Gordon Norris both of Washington; daughter in-law, Betty Norris of Washington; seventeen grandchildren, Sandra Richardville, Lee (Jill) Capehart, Demita Capehart, Pam Capehart, Barbara (Tim) Barnett, Jeff Turnbaugh, Mike (Yvette) Turnbaugh, Julia (Nick) Huls, Laura (Brian) Detalante, Kathe Turnbaugh, Robert (Amy) Norris, Joycelyne (Roger) Abney, Kathleen (Ken) Ramoz, Brian Norris, Joby (Christie) Norris, Jessica (Bryan) Veale and Ashley Norris; thirty four great grandchildren,; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph A. Norris on October 4, 1985, whom she married on December 29, 1936; her second husband Robert K. Fields on August 10, 1996, whom she married on June 2, 1990. She was also preceded in death by one son Glen M. Norris; Two grandsons, Jason Norris and Stephen Capehart; one great granddaughter Alicia Stamper; and a daughter in-law, Lana Norris. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Lowell Will as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Myrtle's family wish to thank, Home Health Care and Helping Hearts Hospice. Special Thanks to Anna Joyce and Alicia Padgett for their help and kindness. Also thanks to the granddaughters,, Sandra Julie, Denita, Pam, Barbara and great granddaughter, Sarah for staying many nights and days, along with Gordon, Shirley and Patty.
