Mary J. Wonder age 97 of Washington passed away on Sunday at 2:04 PM at Eastgate Manor Nursing Home. She was Born on July 27-1909 in Daviess County to the late Nora (Kirk) and Willis Stone. She Married Eli Wonder on August 27-1927 and she attended Glendale High School. She was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church, St. Simon Alter Society, and the Legion of Mary. Surviving is three daughters and sons in-law, Dottie and Bob Stellings of Washington , Katie and Ed Johnson of Tampa, Fl., and Phyllis and Edwin Lindauer of Fort Branch; daughter in-law Patty Wonder Hopewell of Washington; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. She was Preceded in death by her husband Eli Wonder, her father Willis Stone, her mother Nora Stone Smith, her step father John Smith, two sons Bob and Willis Wonder, great granddaughter Julie Moreland, grandson in-law Dick Moreland, 8 sister, 4 brothers, and a foster son Jimmy Baker who lived with the family from childhood till his death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Leo Kiesel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake service at 4 PM.
