Mary E. Queen, age 99, of Washington, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2:56 pm.
She was born on January 21, 1919 in Washington to Matthew and Rose (Mandabach) Schlotter. She graduated from Washington High School in 1938. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and was a volunteer for the St Vincent DePaul Society.
She is survived by five sons, Michael (Sandy) Queen and James (Cathy) Queen, both of Washington, Daniel Queen, Jr. of Evansville, John (Shirley) Queen of Ohio and Terry (Tammy) Queen of Owensville; daughter, Anita (Richard) Tomey of Washington; step daughter, Sharon Queen of Carmel; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren and one great grandchild; daughter-in-law, Clair Queen of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel Queen on August 4, 1987, whom he married January 18, 1941; son, Steve Queen; three brothers, Eugene Schlotter, Francis Schlotter and Richard Schlotter; sister, Joan McDonald; grandson, Greg Queen
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Fr Paul Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
