Mary Frances Padgett age 88, of Washington, departed to join her faithful Father and Lord ay 8:00 PM on Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes with her daughter Diane McKinley and her sister, Betty Potts by her side. Mary was born on March 12, 1922 in Daviess County to Pauline G. (Wonder) and Bernard A. Padgett. She was educated in St. Simon Schools. She went to work in 1937 with the WPA, to Reliance Manufacturing in 1942 supporting the war effort by sewing parachutes until 1946, when Uniroyal Rubber Company began operation in Washington. She spent 31 years with Uniroyal Rubber until retired in 1977. Mary Frances gave much more to the world then she took. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family, reminiscing old family stories, and always supporting the younger generations. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. In addition to her daughter, Diane McKinley of Washington; Mary Frances was especially loved by her sister. Betty Potts of Washington, Betty's children Anna P. Potts of Evansville; and Joseph A. Potts and his wife Angela of Newburgh, and their children Jordan (10) Joseph R. (10) and Ashley (6); Also surviving are a brother Bernard J. Padgett of Indianapolis and three other nieces and three other nephews. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday with a wake service at 3:30 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary. Condolences sent online at www.edleemortuary .com
