Mary Catherine ‘Mary Kay’ Miller, 89, of Washington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at her bedside.

Mary was born on October 3, 1936, in Washington, Indiana, to Bernard and Delta Mattingly. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and caring heart touched all who knew her.

Mary dedicated many years of service working for Indiana Bell/AT&T, retiring after 30 years. She later worked for four years at the Montgomery Post Office as Assistant Postmaster. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister with great devotion and compassion.

Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, spending time tending to her swimming pool, and most of all, cherishing moments with her family. To those who knew and loved her, she truly was the best mom ever — always offering love, guidance, and unwavering support.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Michael Miller of Washington, Karen (Michael) Mignogna of Arlington, Kentucky, and Catherine (Tony) Hill of Petersburg; her sisters, Judith Ainscough, Donna Bradley, and Patricia Nolley, all of Washington; her grandchildren, Jennifer Haag, Racheal Giannecchini, Jill Speth, Bradley Minnis, Curtis Minnis, Dustin Matthews, and Samual Matthews; along with 16 great-grandchildren who brought her much happiness and pride.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Delta Mattingly; her beloved husband, Walter Miller; and her children, Rickey Miller and Lisa (Miller) Duncan.

Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit, strong faith, and the endless love she gave to her family and friends.

Visitation for Mary Kay will be on Wednesday May 27 from 4 to 8 pm at Ed L Lee Mortuary.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday May 28, 2026 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Paul Furguson, Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
