Obituary

Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Fridrich Grannan went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the home of her son, Jerry and daughter-in-law, Christy in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born February 21, 1931 in Washington, IN, the daughter of John Clement "Clem" and Mary Pauline (Dowden) Fridrich. Jackie was a graduate of Washington Catholic High School and studied at Marian College in Indianapolis, IN for one year. She was united in marriage to Bernard Norris Grannan on June 12, 1954.

In 1951, Jackie was employed at the B&O Railroad as a secretary and in 1965 went to work for her parents at Fridrich's Music and Yarn store. In 1971, Jackie took over her parents' business and retired in 1986. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and Tri Kappa Society. Jackie served as the first woman President of the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce. Jackie was a collector of beautiful thimbles. She was an expert knitter and crotchetier and was helpful to all those who wanted to learn.

Jackie is survived by her sons Bernard F. "Rick" Grannan of Washington, Paul T. Grannan of Daytona Beach, FL and his son Christopher McCauley (Addi) of Roanoke, TX and a great granddaughter Mackenzie; her granddaughter Kristin Bacidore McCoy (Allen) of Vincennes, IN; her daughter Mary Beth Grannan Lancaster and her children, Katelyn "Kady" M. Dzuidzek (Riley), Mary Allison "Allie" Johnston (Mitchel), all of Sterling, IL; Gerald "Jerry" G. Grannan (Christy) of Fort Wayne, IN and their children, John B. Grannan of Los Angeles, CA; and their daughter, Jenna M. Grannan of Fort Wayne, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Pauline Fridrich; her husband, Bernard N. Grannan; her brother, Gerald D. Fridrich; and her son, John Christopher "Chris" Grannan.

A mass of Celebration of Life will be celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00 am with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Afterwards the family will continue the celebration of her life for family and friends at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel, 620 E. Viola Ave, Washington, IN.
