Marilyn "Kay" Abbott, age 77, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her residence. She was born October 6, 1937 in Plainville to Carl K. and Mary M. (Reynolds) Dougherty. She was a Plainville High School graduate. Along with farming, she worked at Citizen''s Bank, Breidenbaugh''s Concrete, Daviess County Courthouse, Prairie Village Living Center and most recentily American Security. Kay married her former husband, George E. Abbott on June 25, 1959, and together they had four children. Surviving are two daughters; Elaine (Dexter) Stafford of South Carolina and Shelli Abbott of Washington, one son, Collin (Dawn) Abbott of Washington, a sister and best friend, Leah (Art) Farley of Plainville, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, daughter, Lianne Wiscaver, and a niece, Felicia Lawyer. There will be no visitation. A private graveside ceremony will be held at a later date.
