Obituary

Marcus A. Green, age 40, passed away on May 1, 2026, leaving behind a life filled with love, adventure, and cherished memories.

Marcus was born on July 21, 1985, in Plymouth, Indiana, to his affectionate mother, Linda Mann. From an early age, he had a deep appreciation for life and the world around him - a spirit that carried through everything he did. Known as "Greener" to those closest to him, Marcus was a loyal friend whose presence brought laughter, comfort, and a sense of belonging to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

On June 23, 2017, Marcus married the love of his life and soulmate, April D. Green (Emmons). Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. Marcus was a proud and devoted husband and father, blessed to help raise two wonderful children who were the center of his world.

Marcus found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He loved to listen to music and spent countless hours playing Xbox, where he not only enjoyed gaming but formed lasting friendships. He loved the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to be in nature, whether he was kayaking, fishing, riding his dirt bike, three-wheeler, or motorcycle, or simply exploring new nature trails. He was also a devoted hockey fan and loyal to his favorite hockey team, the Boston Bruins.

A man of many talents, Marcus enjoyed gardening and landscaping, often taking pride in creating something beautiful with his hands. He also had a creative side, making his own hot sauces to share with others. He had a deep appreciation for cars and enjoyed going to car shows with family.

Marcus had a heart for adventure and loved traveling with his family, always eager to see new places and create lasting memories. His loyal dog, Scout, was never far from his side - he loved Scout deeply, just as he loved all animals. He was a proud member of the Washington Conservation Club.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, April D. Green (Emmons); his children, Lyric M. Green and Carter L. Steffy; and the joyful anticipation of a grandson to be born later this month. He is also survived by his brother, Chad M. (Ashley M.) Green; his dear aunts, Darlene M. Gould and Marcella (Joe) Heet; his father-in-law, Randal L. (Barbara) Emmons; his mother-in-law, Dorothy D. (Ottoniel) Mellado; his brothers-in-law, Timothy L. (Kimberly) Emmons and Ryan A. Emmons; and his sister-in-law, Hannah M. (Kyle) Freyberger.

Marcus will be remembered from his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His presence brought warmth and joy to those around him, and his memory will be forever cherished.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary.
