Lucile Jordan age 97 of Washington passed away at 4:45 PM on Thursday at Washington Nursing Center. She was born on February 15, 1909 in Washington to the late Robert A. and Kathryn (Koch) Underwood. She was a graduate of Washington High School and Indiana State University. She retired from Washington Community Schools after teaching for 32 years. She was a charter member of American Association of University Women. Also a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Indiana State Retired Teachers Association and Daviess County Retired Teachers Association. Surviving are one granddaughter and one great granddaughter, Amy Jordan and Anabella Lucile Jordan Martin of LaCanada, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood 'Woody' Jordan on August 27, 1993, whom she had married on December 26, 1936; one son, Charles 'Laddie' Jordan on September 2, 1998; three brothers, Robert, Joseph and Clayton Underwood. Graveside Services will be on Monday at 10:30 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Hurley to officiating with burial to follow. There will be no visitation.
