Obituary

Louis Nile McCord, 82, of Washington passed away Tuesday night May 17th at Prairie Village Living Center. He served in the Army Guard and spent 18 months in Germany as a guided missile specialist for the US Army. Nile worked at the B&O shops/US Railway/ Evans Railcar. For the past 25 years he ran an appliance repair shop. He enjoyed his work and the people he met. Often he could tell a person what was wrong with their appliance and how to fix it over the telephone. Born in Knox County on May 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Guy Wm. McCord and Irene (Cockerham) McCord. He is survived by his wife Charlene (McCracken) McCord; sons David Lee (Michelle) McCord, Roger Douglas (Heather) McCord & Christopher Clay McCord; grandchildren Rachel Schell, Lacie McCord, Taylor Killion, Chance Killion, & Jerzie McCord. He was also a member of Veale Creek Baptist Church. There will be no service. Nile''s family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Village for the excellent care and comfort during his final days.
