Obituary

Lisa J. Clark, 51, of Washington, Indiana, went to her Heavenly home on June 17, 2026.

Lisa was born on October 11, 1974, in Gary, Indiana, to Sharon (Fields) Choate and James Choate Sr. She graduated from Washington High School in 1994 and married the love of her life, Paul Clark, on May 12, 1995. Together, they shared 31 years of love, devotion, and family.

Lisa dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. Family was at the center of everything she did, and she was happiest when she was taking care of others. Whether it was preparing a meal, lending a helping hand, or simply being there when someone needed her, Lisa gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly. She was the kind of person who always put the needs of others before her own, never seeking recognition and rarely worrying about herself. Her loving and selfless nature touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She especially loved baking sweet treats for her children and grandchildren, whose laughter and smiles brought endless happiness to her heart. Her grandchildren were truly the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent caring for them, sharing stories, creating memories, and surrounding them with love.

Lisa attended Bethany Christian Church and held a strong faith in God. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving mother, Sharon Choate; her beloved children, Derick Clark, Andrea (Cody) Ziegler, Paula (Dekota) Austin, and Scott Clark; her treasured grandchildren, Janeva, Jonathan, Bryce, Remington, Taylee, Bronx, Mika, Cody Jr., and David “DJ” Austin; her siblings, James Choate II, Rhonda Padgett, and Joseph (Catherine) Choate; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, James Choate Sr.; her son, Paul Clark II; her grandchildren, Connor David James Clark and Americus Novalee Clark; and her sister, Andrea Choate.

Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those who went before her and has found peace in her eternal Heavenly home. Her love, kindness, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lisa's life on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Ed L. Lee Mortuary with visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service beginning at 5:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Joshua Jones.
