Obituary

Lional Bogard, 59, passed away on June 11, 2026.

Lional was born on June 16, 1966, to Nellie and James Bogard. He shared 16 loving years of marriage with his wife, Debra Bogard, building a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Lional never met a stranger. He was funny, outgoing, and always ready with a joke or a witty remark. A natural jokester, he loved making people laugh and could brighten a room with his sense of humor. His playful personality and ability to bring smiles to those around him will be remembered by all who knew him.

More than anything, Lional loved his family. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and enjoyed being surrounded by those he loved most. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply spending time together, those moments meant the world to him. He attended Vincennes Avenue Wesleyan Church and found comfort in his faith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Debra Bogard; his daughters, Adrienne Gines and Kaylee Bogard; his stepdaughters, Erica Shelton and Brandi Shelton; his beloved grandchildren, Chevelle and Maverick; his siblings, Sue Jones and Eddie Bogard; as well as many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Lional was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and James Bogard; his daughter, Destiny Bogard; and his sister, Shirley Biggerstaff.

Lional's laughter, love, and unforgettable sense of humor will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. While he will be deeply missed, the memories he created with family and friends will be treasured forever.

Visitation for Lional will be Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jewel Gilley. Burial will follow at Burn City Cemetery.
