Linda Lee Haag, 75, passed away Saturday morning, June 28, 2014 at her home in Wheatland, Indiana after having battled cancer since 2006. Linda graduated from Wheatland High School in 1957. There she met and married her high school sweetheart, Donald E. Haag. They were married at St. Simon Catholic Church in Washington, Indiana on September 27, 1958. Linda graduated from Tri-State Beauty College and was a Master Beautician and owned and operated Linda''s Beauty Shop for over fifty years. She was a past member of ABWA, Knox County Homemakers, Shagbark Council Girl Scouts and served as Secretary of the Diaconate Board for the Diocese of Evansville. She was a long time gas bill collection agent for the Town of Wheatland. She was also the bookkeeper and cook for the family soda fountain business, Haags of Wheatland that operated from 1976-1994. Until the time of her death, Linda faithfully attended church at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, Wheatland Bible Study, Legion of Mary and activities in support of her husband's role as Deacon. Don and Linda are the parents of three children, Laura Cumba (Wheatland, IN), Lisa Ice-Jones (Monroe City, IN) and LaDonna McCrary (Schellsburg, PA). Surviving are one sister, Mary Lucille Brown of Spring Hill, Florida and eight grandchildren: Aaron VanVleet, Roy Ice, Katelynn McCrary, Andy Cumba, Victoria Ice, Kameron McCrary, Olivia Jones and Austin Cumba and sons-in-law, Kevin McCrary and James Jones. Linda was preceded in death by her father Otis Schroeder; stepfather, Elmer Dukes, stepfather Clint Powell; mother Clara (Cox) Powell; granddaughter, Andrea McCrary and son-in-law Mervin Ray Ice, Jr. Visitation for friends and family will be at Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington, IN from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. All are invited to attended Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington, Indiana on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 10:00am. Christian burial will be in the Wheatland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Catholic Charities Court Building, Suite 603, 123 N.W. Fourth Street-Evansville, Indiana 47708 or to Grouseland 3 west Scott Street- Vincennes, Indiana 47591.
