La Verne E. Dages, age 79, of Washington, pass away at 7:47 PM on Monday at Washington Nursing Center. She was born on August 9, 1932 in North Vernon, Indiana to Arnold and Mary Agnes (Melton) Dages. She was educated at St. Cecelia's and Ahrens Trade School in Louisville, Ky. She had worked at Washington Nursing Center. She is survived by one niece, Carol Lica of Michigan; a brother in-law, Robert Shepard of Washington; and a close l friend, Lorene Kilps of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sister, twin LaVonne Shepards, Emma Dages, and Mary Doris Gribbons; two brothers, John Dages and William Dages. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
