Laura Jean Bies, age 94, of Washington, passed away at 9:35 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Prairie Village Living Center. She was born on January 12, 1920 in Washington to George and Martha Jane (Tomey) Wilz. She was a 1937 graduate of Washington Catholic High School. She is survived by one daughter and son in-law, Deborah Jane and John Biddinger of Washington one son Ronald Earl Zollars of Oakland City; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Earl Zollars; her second husband Garriety Bies; her parents; and two sisters, Georgia Price and Kathleen Brown. Graveside services will be at 10 AM on Saturday at St. John Cemetery with Yvonne Evans officiating. There will be no visitation. Ed Lee Mortuary is handling arrangements.
