Kevin Ray Stafford, 61, went to his heavenly home on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Born on August 31, 1964, in Washington, Indiana, Kevin was the beloved son of Wanda and Lynn Stafford. Growing up in a military family, Kevin and his siblings moved often, sometimes every year. Though those frequent moves shaped his childhood, they also instilled in him a lifelong love of travel and discovering new places, people, and experiences.

Following his graduation from high school, Kevin pursued his passion for learning by earning his B.S. in Computer Science. While working toward his degree, he proudly served in the United States Army Reserve after participating in ROTC during high school. Through his dedication and perseverance, he attained the rank of First Lieutenant.

Kevin was a remarkable man whose quiet nature never overshadowed the depth of his character. He was humble, kind, charitable, and exceptionally brilliant. Thoughtful in all that he did, Kevin believed in doing things well. He was a meticulous planner who thoroughly researched everything before making a decision, whether it was a major purchase or planning his next adventure. Those who knew him admired not only his intelligence but also his wisdom, patience, and gentle spirit.

Life was meant to be experienced, and Kevin embraced it wholeheartedly. He loved traveling and never lost the curiosity that had been nurtured throughout his childhood. He found joy in music, scuba diving, and playing tennis, and he was the kind of person willing to try almost anything at least once. A true foodie at heart, Kevin especially enjoyed discovering local diners, always searching for the perfect slice of pie to complete a good meal. His adventures, both near and far, were never simply about the destination—they were about the experiences, the people he met, and the memories he created along the way.

Above all, Kevin's life was marked by quiet strength and a generous heart. He never sought recognition for his kindness, yet he freely gave of himself whenever he could. His humility, compassion, and unwavering integrity left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. He lived thoughtfully, loved sincerely, and made the world around him a little brighter simply by being himself.

During the last two years of his life, Kevin found a deep and abiding peace in his faith. On July 1, 2026, he publicly professed that faith through baptism and in his own words, felt redeemed. His family finds great comfort in knowing that the peace he discovered in life has now become the eternal peace he enjoys in the presence of his Savior.

Kevin's memory will be forever treasured by his siblings, Bryan, Gwyn, Kim, and Jen; his nieces and nephews; his aunts and cousins; his lifelong best friend, Nicky (Celia) Hoon, and their daughter Lili; along with many extended family members and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, and his brother, Perry.

Kevin's life reminds us that greatness is not always found in the loudest voice, but in quiet kindness, steadfast character, generous love, and a humble faith. Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy of the life he lived and the love he shared will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Ed L. Lee Mortuary. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. 

Burial will take place at a later date in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
