June Jones, age 99, of Washington passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 5:45 a.m.

She was born on June 26, 1919 in Pike County to Shirley and Maude (Hayes) Mitchell. She attended Glendale High School and had retired from Daviess County Hospital where she had worked for Dr. Bill Shafer. She was a member of Aikman Creek Baptist Church where she had been a member for over 80 years.

She is survived by two sons, Mark (Bonnie) Jones and Mike (Lou) Jones, both of Washington; grandchildren, Shelley (Dave) Crooks, Derek Jones, Ann E. Jones and Katlin (Tommy) Riester; six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Jones on December 23, 2006, whom she married December 24, 1936; parents, brothers, Tom, Jack and Kenneth Mitchell; special aunt Gertrude "Sis" Warren; two great grandchildren

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Aikman Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Cheryl Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in Aikman Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday at Aikman Creek Church, 700 South, Washington, IN.
