"Joe" Wick
August 9, 1946 – May 13, 2023
Joseph H. "Joe" Wick, 76, passed away at his Washington residence in the early morning hours of May 13, 2023. He was born in Washington, Indiana, August 9, 1946, to Eugene and Floy L. (Stewart) Wick.
After high school, Joe served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Joe was employed by the Daviess County Highway Department, where he was a truck driver. He also worked for MacAllister's in Washington. He was most recently retired from skilled carpentry work. He was a member of the Washington American Legion and a former member of the Washington VFW. Joe was an avid antiques collector - especially old tools.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Nichole Duncan; and grandson, Avery Richburg, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He leaves a sister, Edna Lessig of Weatherford, Texas; and a brother, Ed Wick of Petersburg.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Floy Wick; and a brother, Albert Wick.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Walnut Hill Cemetery, c/o City of Petersburg, 704 East Main Street, Petersburg, Indiana 47567.
Visitation for Joe Wick will be 10:00-11:00 am, Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.
Funeral services for Joe Wick will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 am, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Pastor Terry Fletcher will officiate. Burial will follow in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg. The Washington American Legion will accord military honors at the burial service.
After the burial service, there will be a meal at the church: Glezen G. B. Church, 1262 West Glazen Sycamore Street, Petersburg. The cemetery address is: Petersburg Walnut Hill Cemetery, 1108 N. Vincennes Avenue/North 9th Street, IN HWY. 61, Petersburg.
