John “Kenny” Kenneth Taylor, 81, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026.
Kenny was born on October 22, 1944, in Loogootee, Indiana, to Charles and Dorothy (Sanders) Taylor. On April 19, 1969, he married the love of his life, Ruth (Lengacher) Taylor. Together they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Kenny was a quiet and kind-hearted man who found great joy in music throughout his life. A talented musician, he played with the Wagler Family in years past and was gifted in playing many instruments. His favorite was the bass guitar, and he could often be found sharing his love of music with those around him. Though soft-spoken, Kenny's gentle presence, steady nature, and love for his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Ruth Taylor; his daughter, Sheila (Spencer) Gingerich; his grandson, Casey (Alyssa) Taylor; his beloved great-grandchildren, Dayson, Blaydon, Emberlyn, and Falyon; and his nieces and nephew, Scott (Sharon) Taylor, Shelly Taylor, and Jenny Presley.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Taylor; his son, Mark Anthony Taylor; and his brother, Ronald Taylor.
Kenny will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of music, and the deep love he had for his family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Loogootee Methodist Church, 208 Main St, Loogootee, IN 47553. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Denny Chanley officiating. Burial to follow in Goodwill Cemetery.
