John Lashley, age 52 of Washington, passed away December 28, 2015 at 2:00 a.m. at his residence. He was born October 30, 1963 in Washington to John R. and Jane (Carr) Lashley. He was a 1981 Washington High School graduate. He was a team leader at Jasper Engines. He is survived by his wife Laura (Mattingly) Lashley whom he married November 23, 1985, a son, Damon Lashley (Kiersten Clark) of Washington, a daughter Megan (Clayton) Thornberry of Dixon, Kentucky, sisters; Rose (Mike Honaker) of Washington and Judy (John) Moore of Sullivan. Preceding John in death are his grandparents; George & Rose Lashley and Frank and Ellen Carr, and his mother and father in law; Dan and Rita Mattingly. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Rex Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 4 - 8 pm Wednesday and 11 - 1 Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, 800 W. 9th Street, Jasper, IN 47548.
