John J. Fitch, age 81, of Washington passed away October 31, 2015 at Memorial Hospital & Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born March 17, 1934 in Wayne County, Illinois to Geraldine Amy (Sperry) and John Fitch. He was a Mt. Carmel, IL High School graduate and was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He retired from Crane as an Industrial Hygienist and was a Daviess County Health Inspector. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW clubs in Washington. He is survived by his son, Dirk Fitch of Raleigh, North Carolina and a brother, James Fitch of Gulf Shores, Alabama, two granddaughters; Nicole Fitch and Iris Joyner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Ann (Bruner) Fitch, whom he married June 1981, on April 2, 2015 and a daughter, Lisa Kristine (Fitch) Joyner. Memorial service will be held Saturday at 12:00 p.m.at Ed Lee Mortuary with entombment following at Sugarland Memorial Gardens with Pastor Keith Meece officiating.
