John Glenn Bynum, 58, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 13, 2025. He was born in Washington on September 6, 1966, the son of John W. Bynum and Shanon (Fowler) Abell.

John had worked as a carpenter and brick layer. He was proud of his accomplishments through Ivy Tech that allowed him to grow in his career. But, nothing made him more proud than being "Poppa!"

John had a love for traveling and a classic car. You could often find him riding with his windows down and a classic song playing loudly.

Those left to cherish John's memory include his mother, Shanon; daughter, Lindsay; sister, Amanda; two brothers, Michael (Erica) Bynum and Jeff Cox; and the three he adored most -- his grandchildren: Devyn, Jailee, and Averick, all of Washington.

During his lifetime, John mourned the loss of his father, John W. Bynum; uncle, Joe Bynum and cousin, Tim Bynum.

There will be a Celebration of Life planned for family.
