Obituary

Joan (Pettigrew) Daily Elliott, age 82, passed away on December 5, 2014 at 11:45 p.m. in Bloomington, Indiana. She was born in Corning, Indiana on November 18, 1932 to James and Emma (Hinton) Pettigrew. She graduated Montgomery High School 1951 and earned a degree in Business Administration from Vincennes University. Joan was owner/operator of Daily''s Furniture for over 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and a former member of St. Simon''s Choir. She was a member of Psi-Iota Xi Sorority and a volunteer at Daviess Community Hospital. She is survived by her five children, Terri (Bill) Arnold of Bloomington, Susan (Wade) Leighty of Washington, Maura (Richard) Johnson of Cincinnati, Mary Jo (Chris) Limke of Milford, Ohio, Joe (Julie) Daily of Zionsville, a sister, Rose Pettigrew of Washington, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, second husband, Don Elliott, five brothers; Joe Pettigrew, Frank Pettigrew, John Pettigrew, Bernard Pettigrew and James Pettigrew, three sisters; Monica Herring, Mary Jones, Birdena McDonald as well as her first husband, Thomas J. Daily, who passed away May 21, 2014. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Montgomery with burial following at St. Patrick Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be at Ed Lee Mortuary on Wednesday, December 10th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Ed Lee Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Education Endowment, P.O.
