Jessie A. Tooley age 81 of Washington passed away on Sunday at 4:20 PM at Washington Nursing Center. He was born on August 24th 1925 in Cornettsville to Lovey and Ruth (Brumett) Tooley. He was a World War II US Marine veteran having served in China. He had retired from the Washington Police Departments as the department's first detective. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Washington Masonic Lodge, Washington Fraternal Order of Police, and Washington American Legion. Surviving are one daughter Lisa Tooley of Princeton; two grandsons Andrew Dages and Jacob Dages both of Princeton; and one sister in-law Catherine Tooley of Washington. . He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Tooley on November 29, 1999, whom he had married on September 13, 1947. A Masonic memorial services and funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Pastor Louis Showers officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens with Military Graveside Rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 AM till the hour of service.
