Jeanette Ann O'Brian, 85, of Montgomery, went peacefully to her heavenly home on July 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the faith that guided her throughout her life.

Born on January 17, 1941, in Washington, Indiana, Jeanette was the eldest daughter of Nelson B. Hauser and Mary Ann (Horsting) Hauser. She graduated from Washington Catholic High School with the Class of 1959, then went on to work at the Daviess County Courthouse. On February 23, 1963, she married the love of her life, Patrick E. O'Brian. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, hard work, and unwavering love, sharing more than 63 years of marriage.

Jeanette's greatest calling was the life she created at home. She never retired from being a devoted wife, loving mother, dedicated homemaker, hardworking farm wife, and proud grandmother. She quietly poured herself into caring for those she loved, finding joy not in recognition, but in serving her family with a gentle heart and steadfast devotion. Though naturally quiet, Jeanette's warm smile and joyful laughter brought comfort and happiness to everyone around her.

She found pleasure in life's simple blessings. She loved sewing and quilting, tending her flower garden, working puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Jeanette also looked forward to volunteering on Election Day, where she enjoyed visiting with friends, meeting new people, and lending a helping hand. A woman of deep conviction and compassionate faith, she faithfully attended Daviess County Right to Life activities and was a devoted member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where her faith remained the foundation of her life.

Those left to cherish Jeanette's memory include her beloved husband of 63 ½ years, Patrick O'Brian; her loving children, Sharon O'Brian, Mark (Stephanie) O'Brian, Mary Coleson, Catherine (Randy) Earle, Darrell (Racquel) O'Brian, Janice O'Brian, Michael (Jennifer) O'Brian, and Diane (Chris) Sloffer; her grandchildren, Thomas Guffey, Cassandra Rice, Jacob (Darrah) O'Brian, Anthony (Mariah) O'Brian, Joshua O'Brian, Matthew Coleson, Adam Coleson, Andrew Coleson, Carter Earle, Tori Earle, Nikolas O'Brian, Adeline (Joel) Steckler, Claire Fox, Luke O'Brian, Alexia Sloffer, Nathan Sloffer, and six loving great-grandchildren; and her loving siblings, Charles Hauser, Joe (Chris) Hauser, Geraldine Killion, Gail (Ron) Norvell, Joan (John) Sponn, Debbie McBride, Rhonda Boger, James (Katie) Hauser, Rodney Hauser and brother-in-law, Richard Mcdonald.

Jeanette was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Nelson B. Hauser and Mary Ann (Horsting) Hauser; her brother, Kenneth M. Hauser; her sister, Shirley McDonald; and her stepmother, Agnes Hauser; and her brothers-in-law Paul Killion and Todd Boger.

Jeanette's life was a beautiful example of quiet strength, selfless love, and enduring faith. She showed those around her that a life well lived is measured not by worldly accomplishments, but by the kindness shared, the family nurtured, and the love freely given. Though she will be deeply missed each day, her gentle spirit, warm laughter, and the countless memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.

Visitation for Jeanette will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Father Steven McGinnis serving as celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
