Janice Lynette (Walker) Hartley, 48, passed away during the early morning hours of August 7, 2024, while at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. She was born in Olney, Illinois, October 7, 1975, to Morris A. and Wanda June (McClelland) Walker. She was engaged to Gary Shoulders of Lawrenceville, Illinois.

Janice attended Olney Central College where she studied nursing. She was employed as a CNA at the Aperion Nursing Home in Bridgeport, Illinois. Known to be a wonderful cook, Janice prepared family favorites such as sweet and sour chicken and sweet potato casserole. She enjoyed landscaping; growing flowers and going to demolition derbies; but, she was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren.

Those who now mourn Janice's passing include her sons, Kevin (Kaylee) Walker of Bicknell; Daniel Nash of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and Dylan (Camilla Risley) Dunkin of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and her fiancé, Gary Shoulders of Lawrenceville, Illinois. Janice was blessed with six beloved grandchildren: Kason Walker; Keaton Walker; Kayzlee Walker; Brooklyn Shoulders; Alexis Shoulders; and Cole Shoulders. Additionally, she leaves siblings: Paul (Betty) Rossi of Vincennes; Ruby (Michael) Gish of Olney, Illinois; Janice McClellan of Scotland; and Joe Rossi of Bicknell; several nieces and nephews, and her canine companion, Luca.

Visitation for Janice Hartley will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Monday, August 12, 2024, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.

Funeral services for Janice Hartley will be 12:00 noon, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.

Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, 919 Willow Street, Vincennes, Indiana.
