James “Jim” Richardville, age 95, went to his heavenly home on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Jim was born on March 6, 1931, in Vincennes, Indiana, to the late Bernadine and Arthur Richardville. He grew up with a strong sense of duty and honor, which led him to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. Being a Marine was a defining and meaningful part of Jim’s life, shaping the strength, discipline, and character he carried with him always.
On June 11, 1955, Jim was united in marriage to the love of his life, Donna M. (White) Richardville. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Jim worked many years as a butcher before his retirement, a profession he took pride in through his hard work and dedication. In his free time, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures—camping trips, peaceful golf cart rides, tending to his garden, and expressing his creativity through craft painting.
He was a proud member of the American Legion and of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vincennes, where his faith remained an important part of his life.
Those left to cherish Jim’s memory include his son, Mark (Michelle) Richardville; his grandchildren, Lindsey (Brett) Daily, Sarah (Derrick) McCracken, Eric (Rachel) Richardville, Sierra (Jarrod) Rhoades, and Brittany (Chris) Russell; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as one brother, and one sister.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Bernadine and Arthur Richardville; his beloved wife, Donna Richardville; his son, Gary Lee Richardville; his daughter, Diana Lynn Richardville; and several brothers and sisters.
Jim will be remembered for his steady strength, his love for his family, and the quiet way he brought joy to those around him. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary, with Pastor Brad Rainey officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion and VFW.
