James L. Gunder, age 54, of Washington, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center. He was born on April 16, 1962 in Warsaw, Indiana to Russell "Russ" and Beatrice "Bea" (Koogler) Gunder. He was a 1980 graduate of Washington High School. James was a member of ABATE and enjoyed riding motorcycles, racketball and musician Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is survived by his parents, wife, Kathleen (Disch) Gunder of Richmond, Indiana, whom he married June 4, 1982; son, Nathan (Cheyanne) Gunder of Washington; two daughters, Sarah Neikirk of Richmond, Indiana and Kara (Nathan) Brooking of Pickens, South Carolina; brother, Daniel Gunder of Terre Haute; four granddaughters, Jordan Smith, Marissa Neikirk, Mackenzie Neikirk and Kinsley Brooking; two nephews, Josh Gunder and Jeremy Gunder. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Pastor Charlie McCracken officiating.
