James W. Essig, 89, passed away from complications of Parkinson's Disease on March 3, 2025, at the BridgePointe Health Campus in Vincennes.

He was born in Washington on December 27, 1935, to Gib Essig and Irene (Humbaugh) Essig. He was a proud Marine.

He married Patracia Rink on June 4, 1961, and she survives. Other survivors include daughters, Trisha Corcoran (Kevin), Indianapolis, and Kimberly Carlton (Grant), Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Moira Corcoran, Washington, DC, and Kienan Corcoran (fiancée Caroline Gorman), Evansville; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, JoAnn Essig and Marilyn Essig.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Plainville Cemetery.
