James Edwin Daniel, 68, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away on August 27, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer.

James was raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, and was a graduate of Maine South High School, where he excelled at tennis and was a member of the Men's Varsity Team. He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb and worked for the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists in Chicago for many years. James relocated to the Loogootee area in 2012 to be closer to family and spend more time outdoors surrounded by nature and animals.

James was predeceased by his loving mother, Rosemary Hendry Daniel, and father, Harold Edwin Daniel.

James is survived by his two brothers, Robert and John; his sister, Barb (Schmaus); as well as his nieces, Christina Daniel and Sarah Schmaus; and nephews, Sean and Paul Daniel, and Michael Schmaus.

The family will have a private ceremony at a later date to celebrate James' life.
