Ivan Lee Bauer, 90, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August 21, 2023, at his residence. His wife of sixty-one years was by his side. Ivan was born October 26, 1932, in Jasper, to Raymond and Verda (Taylor) Bauer. On June 2, 1961, he married his soulmate, Sharon Kay Hughes. Together, they made a loving home for each other and their three children.

After attending college, Ivan went on to become a supervisor at the Recreation Equipment Company. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Oak Grove Community Church.

Those who now mourn Ivan's passing include his wife, Sharon Bauer of Alfordsville; his children: Tim (Laurie) Bauer of Alfordsville; Penny (Roy) King of Anderson; and Tom (Mary) Bauer of Martinsville. Ivan and Sharon were blessed with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Verda and Raymond Bauer; a grandson; brothers Eugene Bauer and Edward Bauer; sisters, Naomi Eggman and Joan Fennell.

Visitation for Ivan Lee Bauer will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.

Visitation will also be 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, Thursday, August 24, 2023, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary.

Funeral services for Ivan Lee Bauer will immediately follow the morning visitation and begin at 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 24, 2023, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Pastor Dan Gilley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove - Reeve Township Cemetery, 8638 East 700 South, Montgomery, Indiana 47558.
