Howard L. Carter age 85 passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Hillside Manor Nursing Home.

Howard was born January 12, 1935 in Stendel, IN to Walter H. Carter and Mabel (Jones) Carter. He graduated from Stendel High School. Howard had worked at Washington Wal-Mart and retired from the oil fields.

He is survived by his wife Darlene Carter who he married on May 22, 1998; daughter Debbie (Rick) Meyerholtz of Stendel; son Daniel Carter of Stendel; brother Larry Carter of Arkansas; sister Phylis Kinsley of Arkansas; stepson Terry Emmons of Washington; stepdaughter Lisa (Dean) Hammack of Florida; seven grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Donna Carter; son David Lee Carter and brother Donald Ray Carter.

Graveside Service will be Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Cup Creek Cemetery in Pikeville, Indiana with Pastor Joshua Jones officiating. There will be no visitation .
