Obituary

Herman O''Connor, age 90, of Montgomery, passed away at 5:17 PM on Friday, March 20, 2015, at St Francis Health Center in Indianapolis. He was born on December 26, 1924 in Montgomery to Matthew and Corine (Arvin) O''Connor. He was a retired farmer, and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Montgomery Ruritan Club, Knights of Columbus, and Holy Name Society. Herman was caretaker of St. Peters Cemetery for many years. He is survived by five daughters, Mary Jane (Robert) Henning of Gwinn, Michigan, Sister Anna C. O''Connor of Louisville, Kentucky, Phyllis M. (Marvin) Betz of Celestine, Pauline T.(Patrick) Rickard of Brownsburg, and Belinda C.(Frank) Delgado of Miami, Florida; six sons, Matthew E. (Glenda) O''Connor of Elnora, Kevin P. (Diana Burch) O''Connor of Loogootee, Fred L. (Beth) O''Connor of Beach Grove, Louis J. (Melissa) O''Connor of Montgomery, Adrian A.(Kathryn) O''Connor of Montgomery, and Timothy H. Tim'' O''Connor of Washington; 34 grandchildren; and 46 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Colvin) O''Connor on October 16, 2005, whom he had married on May 21, 1949. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Helen Fuhs; three brothers, Ottis O''Connor, Harold O''Conner, and Carl O''Connor. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father James Koressel and Father Kenneth Walker as con-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 PM on Wednesday WITH A Rosary at 3:30 pm at St. Peter Catholic Church and visitation will also be on Thursday from 8 to 9:30 am.
