Obituary

Gregory K. Blackburn, 64, passed away on September 11, 2026.

Greg was born on November 13, 1961, to Mary Fithian and Jerry Blackburn. He was also blessed to be raised and cared for by his stepmother, Frieda Blackburn, who held an important place in his life.

Greg married the love of his life, Lisa Blackburn, on November 17, 2010, and the two shared a life and a love that meant everything to him. His love and devotion to her remained a lasting part of who he was.

For 29 years, Greg worked as a truck driver for McCallister. He was a quiet and simple man with a good heart who enjoyed being outdoors and found happiness in hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Above all, Greg loved his family. His grandchildren, Parker, Ruthy, and Walker, held an especially precious place in his heart. They were a source of great pride and happiness in his life, and he cherished them deeply.

Greg carried a belief in God in his own quiet and personal way. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and reunited with those he loved and missed so dearly.

Those left to cherish Greg’s memory include his daughter, Lacey Blackburn (Ben Wilson); his beloved grandchildren, Parker, Ruthy, and Walker Wilson; his siblings, Jerrel (Robin) Blackburn and Robin Meadors; and his stepsiblings, Janet Caviness and Kenny Anderson.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Fithian and Jerry Blackburn; his stepmother, Frieda Blackburn; his beloved wife, Lisa Blackburn; and his stepbrother, Terry Anderson.

Greg will be remembered for his calm nature, his good heart, and most of all, the deep love he carried for Lisa, his daughter Lacey, and his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. outdoors behind New Hope Church. A service of remembrance will begin at 6:30 p.m., with Charlie McCracken officiating.
