Obituary

Genevieve Brothers age 55 of Washington, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.

Genevieve was born on February 17, 1966 in Bethel, Alaska to Ruth (Charles) and Elias Venes. She graduated from Bethel Regional High School in 1984. She was a life member of VFW Auxiliary Post 10,041 and tribal member of Orutsararmiut Native Council. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Genevieve is survived by her husband James Brothers whom she married on October 27, 1998; two daughters Michelle (Jeff) Windward of Washington and Mary (Alex) Hinkle of Loogootee; eight sisters Elizabeth (Bobby) Hoffman, Ruth (Pete) Garrison, Jo (Jacob) Daniel, Henrietta Knight, Connie (Ken) Sankwich, and Janet (Michael) Gray all of Bethel, AK, Arlene Rost of Anchorage, AK and Lisa (Trevis) Waters of Fortine, MT and four grandchildren: Oakley Windward, Breighden Howell, Jillian Windward and Alexis Hinkle.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Debra Ovitt and two brothers Leonard Venes and Billy Lindstrom.

Services will be held at a later date in Alaska.
