Marion Dant, Sr., age 68 of Montgomery passed away 9:10 p.m. Sunday at Daviess Community Hospital. Born May 29, 1939 in Daviess County he was the son of Beldas and Mary Jane (Grider) Dant. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He worked for Briedenbaugh Concrete 6 years, McCords Corp. 7 years, owned and operated Dant's Tavern for 15 years, and was owner/operator of Dant Brothers Cleaning Service for 39 years. Surviving is his wife, Rebecca "Becky" (Love) Dant, whom he married January 5, 1963; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Nay and Gena Dant and Bill Dant all of Montgomery; one brother, Ambrose Dant of Washington; and two grandchildren, Henley and Bailey Dant of Montgomery. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Beldas Raymond Dant and George Thomas Dant; five brothers, Robert, Bill, Marshal, and James Dant and John Grider; and five sisters, Alberta Higgins, Nancy Lou Truelove, Elizabeth Dillon, Rose Mary Simon, and Pauline Kane. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
