Frances L. Petty, age 91, of Washington, passed away at 7:25 PM on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Daviess Community Hospital. She was born on June 17, 1925 in Daviess County to Frank Lents and Matilda (Meyers) Lents. She Graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 1943. She was a homemaker and loved quilting and sewing. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She is survived by five sons, Joseph Petty of Odon, Stephen and Harriett Petty of Washington, William and Peggy Petty of Montgomery, Jeff and Kathy Petty of Plainville, Paul and Jamie Petty of Palm Bay Florida; Four daughters Mary and Jim Willis of Sullivan, Elizabeth and Ezra Wittmer of Odon, Barbara and Jim Torres of Lithia Florida, Cathy Hampton of Huntingburg; Two sisters, Rosemary Richards of Washington, and Sue Ann Doyle of Washington; Eighteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Mac Petty; sister Mildred Overton; Brothers Tom Lents, Richard Lents and Bill Lents; grandson Justin Sheetz; and two great grandchildren Onna Canada and Austin Petty. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 29 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery with Rev. James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Montgomery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michaels Cemetery, P.0.
