Esther Mae Watkins, age 91, of Washington, passed away at 8:30 PM on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Prairie Village Living Center. She was born on July 3, 1923 in Bicknell to Ben and Viola (Barnett) Hawk She loved making quilts for her family and spending time with each family member. Esther is survived by one daughter, Phyllis (Tom) Gross of Washington; three sons, Ed Watkins and Richard (Mary) Watkins both of Washington, and Danny (Shirley) Watkins of ; two brothers, Melvin Hawk of Tennessee and Joe Hawk of Oregon; sisters, Joan Jones of Danville and Ruth Ann Jackson of Bicknell; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Watkins on April 27, 1992, whom she had married on January 18, 1941. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Watkins in 1955; one grandson; 3 sisters; and 4 brothers Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. Wayne Neeley officiating. Burial will follow in Sugarland memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 2 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary.
