Obituary

Eleanor Louise Mahan,81, of Washington passed away on Wednesday at 1:01 AM at Daviess Community Hospital. She was born on August 23,1924 in Daviess County to the late Charles E. and Lillie Bell (Prewett) Burris. She was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons and five daughters; Donna Borden, Jasper, Daniel J. Mahan, Plainfield, Barbara Osmon, Washington, Carol Jane Killion, Washington, Patrick Mahan, Bloomington, Teresa Osborne, Washington and Beverly Bouchie, Washington, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lowell Gray, her second husband, James A. Mahan, whom she married February 17, 1947, and he died May 22, 2002, as well as 4 brothers and 5 sisters. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 AM on Saturday at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Leo Kiesel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday with a Christian wake service at 4 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary. Online condolences may be sent to www.edleemortuary.com .
